POSITION SUMMARY:



The Director, Commercial IT, Branded is a lead IT Business Partner for the Branded Commercial organization (i.e Sales, Marketing, Commercial Operations, Patience Access, Sales Training, etc.). This role will develop and maintain trusted business partnerships and provide strategic management and cross-functional team leadership. The role is responsible for developing and executing the technology strategy aligned to and enabling the Commercial business. The incumbent will be responsible for implementing identified strategic projects as required by the multi-year technology strategy. The role will ensure all IT solutions support the Commercial business strategy, while aligning to the IT framework (architecture, tech security, etc.). In addition, this person will have direct and indirect responsibility for maintaining the overall health, operations and lifecycle management of existing IT capabilities including recommendations on extending, investing, and retiring.SCOPE OF AUTHORITY:







§ Functional area OpEx of $~2MM+ and project capital of $5MM+



§ Management of Commercial (Client) budgets where appropriate; influence and direct stakeholder spend



§ Determining and maintaining correct staff composition (employees and consultants.)







ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:







§ Serves as a primary point of contact for selected Commercial business areas.



§ Collaborates with the business partners in identifying strategic direction / solutions for enabling processes and extending current tools to increase value proposition.



§ Works with leaders to understand the core capabilities needed to drive business results, and translate into actionable programs for functional teams.



§ Responsible for the successful operations of the Commercial application portfolio.



§ Maintain an in-depth understanding regarding all Commercial processes in order to conduct effective analysis and support business decisions.



§ Analyze business solutions to address Commercial issues based on an understanding of our current business processes and future business needs.







§ Provide project leadership for major strategic initiatives.



§ Build alliances with external and internal partners to enhance the effectiveness of the business functions and to ensure alignment on objectives and metrics.



§ Ensure projects align with Business/Technology Roadmaps and appropriate trade off decisions are made across Commercial.







§ Lead and oversee the day-to-day technology operations activities performed by internal FTEs, and 3rd party suppliers.



§ Identify opportunities for improvement by analyzing performance data and comparing to industry norms and best practices.







§ Ensure supplier contracts for projects and operational activities are in alignment with the needs of the commercial business and IT.



§ Monitor supplier performance against contractual obligations and changes in expectations/scope; providing feedback where appropriate and amending contracts as needed.







REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:







Education & Experience



Minimal acceptable level of education, work experience and certifications required for the job







§ BA/BS degree in Information Science, Technology, or a related field.



§ 12+ years of IT experience.



§ 5+ years specifically in support of a pharmaceutical Commercial organization, preferably with a branded pharmaceutical company.



§ 3+ years of budget oversight and management of key vendors.



§ Significant experience as an IT leader in a business partner role influencing direction and deploying technology solutions.



§ Experience supporting the following environments is required:



o Sales Operations



o Marketing Operations



o Patient Access



o Insights and Analytics







Knowledge



Proficiency in a body of information required for the job



e.g. knowledge of FDA regulations, GMP/GLP/GCP, Lean Manufacturing, Six-Sigma, etc.







§ Strong knowledge of Commercial SaaS solutions (Veeva CRM, Veeva Vault, Tableau, etc.)



§ High awareness of healthcare technology trends.



§ Strong technology orientation with a passion for technology.



§ Knowledge of development methodologies for strategies and technology plans.
