Currently, we provide care from three facilities—our hospital, medical clinic and our rehab/physical therapy center. We’re also pleased to offer advanced orthopaedic care through our Northwest Colorado Orthopaedic & Total Joint Center.

  • Position Purpose: Provide direct patient care within an assigned unit under the supervision and
    delegation of the Registered Nurse, practicing within their scope, standards, policies, values, and
    mission of the organization. Promote a positive, organized, healthy environment while performing
    administrative and clerical duties.

    Essential Functions and Basic Duties:

    Position Specific Performance Expectations

    o    Performs direct and indirect patient care in collaboration with RN or physician and documents
    care accordingly.

    o    Assumes responsibility and accountability for facilitating, communication, and collaborating
    with the team to meet the physical and emotional needs of the patient.

    o    Assists physicians and nurses and/or performs technical procedures as delegated within scope
    of practice.

    o    Observes and reports any changes in patient condition or behavior to the RN or physician.

    o    Communicates clearly, honestly, appropriately and in a timely manner with patients, families
    and care team members.

    o    Assists with patient flow and keeping the department and patient rooms clean, stocked, and

    o    Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal
    supervision in a fast paced environment.

    o    Performs clerical duties including admission orders, filling out appropriate forms, arranging
    for patient transfers, answering phones, and communicating with interdisciplinary teams.

    o    Demonstrates respect, equity, and empathy in actions and interactions with culturally diverse
    and vulnerable patients.

    o    Answers the telephone in a polite manner and communicates information to the appropriate
    personnel or family. Directs calls to the appropriate person/department.

    o    Receives, greets and directs patients arriving at the Emergency Department.

    o    Respects confidentiality of patient records and adheres to HIPAA and facility guidelines.

    o    Demonstrates knowledge of facility safety procedures.

    o    Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

    o   Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.

    o   Upholds regulatory requirements to ensure continual compliance with departmental, hospital,
    state and federal regulations and policies.

    o   Follows all policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment for patients, public and

    o   Completes annual education, training, in-service, and licensure/certification requirements;
    attends departmental and organizational staff meetings or reads meeting minutes.

    o   Reports to work on time and as scheduled; completes work within designated timeframes.

    o   Establishes and maintains effective verbal and written communication and good working
    relationships with all patients, staff and vendors.

    o   Utilizes initiative; strives to maintain steady level of productivity; self-motivated; manages
    activity and time.

    o   Actively participates in departmental and facility performance improvement and continuous
    quality initiatives.


    Minimum Requirements:

    o    Must be at least 16 years of age (21 for driving positions).

    o    Must be able to legally work in the United States.

    o    Must be able to pass a background check.

    o    Must be able to pass a drug screen and breath alcohol test (if applicable).

    o    Must complete employee health meeting.


    o    High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

    o    Valid EMT, CNA, MA, or LPN required.

    o    Current BLS.

    Experience Required:

    o    Previous bedside clinical experience preferred.
