The Role







Systems architects define the architecture of a computerized system (i.e., a system composed of software and hardware) in order to fulfill certain requirements. Such definitions include: a breakdown of the system into components, the component interactions and interfaces (including with the environment, especially the user), and the technologies and resources to be used in its design and implementation. The Scientific System Architect position is responsible for supporting the development, growth and delivery of various computerized systems that run scientific equipment, GMP manufacturing processes, manage system use, scheduling, and master data as well as support systems implemented at the Kansas City site. The position will play a key role on the implementation teams that will be responsible for defining standard business processes, configuring/testing/validating the software solutions, and deploying the solutions across the site. The position works closely with the business, consulting partners and internal IT teams to deploy or integrate systems and master data.





+ Define system requirements to meet users’ needs



+ Design and integrate technology platforms to increase efficiencies



+ Avoid implementation issues



+ Works closely with the SME's, business operations, IT support, and validation team in the enhancement of existing computer systems, including major capital projects and smaller, stand-alone instrument systems.



+ Assists and manages laboratory and production system contractors as required.



+ Learns to draft, review, execute and approve protocols and reports related to Computer System Validation (CSV).



+ Learns to review and approve changes to computerized production and laboratory systems through the change control program to assess impact on validated systems.



+ Monitors, maintains and troubleshoots existing computerized laboratory and production control and monitoring systems.



+ Provides technical assistance and training for personnel as needed.



+ Other duties as assigned.









The Candidate







In order to be eligible for an internship at Catalent, you must meet the following requirements:





+ Currently enrolled in a College or University



+ Must be an ungraduated student in Computer Science, Chemistry, Biological Sciences, or related field of study



+ Eligible to legally work in the United States



+ Work full time (40 hours/week) for a 10-12 week period
