Position Summary



The Manager, Calibration & Maintenance reports to the Director, Engineering.







The Calibration and Maintenance Manager oversees the calibration staff, maintenance staff, external contractors (as applicable), calibration standards, equipment and spare parts at the Catalent Somerset NJ site. The Calibration and Maintenance Manager oversees day to day operations to ensure production and lab equipment is fit for use operating within the applicable specifications, procedures, polices and industry best practices determined by Catalent and the business unit.







The Calibration and Maintenance Manager role is critical to our patients. This incumbent will ensure systems are maintained on schedule without compromising quality, safety and operational efficiencies. Quality, safety and on-time delivery is a must to be successful in this role!







Our Somerset location is the corporate headquarters for Catalent Pharma Solutions. This location houses our state-of-the-art laboratory, clinical, commercial manufacturing plant for oral dose forms in addition to being the Center of Excellence for Highly Potent Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients.







The Role





+ Implements and sustains a proactive, compliant, reliable and efficient Calibration and Equipment Maintenance program focused on equipment accuracy, reliability and dependability.



+ Leads the Calibration and Equipment Maintenance activities, resources and schedule to ensuring satisfaction for both internal and external customers by providing oversight and direction for individuals performing calibration, preventative maintenance, repair services, and improvements for equipment/instrumentation utilized in both the manufacturing and testing (labs) of pharmaceutical products in a GMP environment.



+ Manages external vendors and service providers for repair and services that can not be executed in-house (i.e. contract negotiation, scheduling, coordination).



+ Mentors and develops team members to increase technical prowess, enhance team performance and foster growth on a continuing basis.









The Candidate





+ BS degree in Engineering or related Science field is required.



+ 8-10 years’ experience in calibration, instrumentation, preventative maintenance, or equivalent.



+ Proven experience managing technical teams in a regulated environment.



+ Work experience in GMP environment and documentation practices.



+ Computer Skills: CMMS, JDE preferred; Calibration Mgmt, Blue Mountain preferred; Microsoft Office Suite; TrackWise® / Documentum a plus.
