Position Summary Catalent is a leading provider of advanced technologies and outsourced services for the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and consumer health industry. Catalent develops, manufactures and packages pharmaceutical and other products for customers in nearly 100 countries, employs approximately 8,000 employees at 30 facilities worldwide and generates more than $1.7 billion in annual revenue. The Manager, Human Resources is responsible for assisting in the development, implementation and administration of local and global policies and programs for staffing, employee relations, compensation and benefits, employee development and training, organizational development, regulatory compliance to meet the business strategies and customer requirements of the Kansas City, MO facility.







The Role





+ Partners with Business Unit Site-based leadership in the organization’s strategic planning efforts, providing insight on vital HR concerns and ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.



+ Develops and directs the establishment and maintenance of policies, procedures, plans and programs dealing with the specific activities of staffing, employee relations, compensation and benefits, employee development and training, organizational development, HR information systems to meet the site’s business plan and competitive strategy in a cost effective manner.



+ Provides counsel to managers and employees on human resources issues, organization structure and development



+ Establishes and maintains an effective and credible relationship with both management and employees; works closely with line management to provide support, planning and problem solving.



+ Develops, implements and administers an effective performance management system aimed at improving employee and organizational productivity.



+ Develops training and development plans to meet regulatory compliance while focusing on building the critical skills and competencies required to handle present and future jobs more effectively.



+ Participates and supports the site Talent Management Program.



+ In partnership with Catalent Compensation, implements and administers fair and equitable reward systems that meet the strategic and competitive demands of the business.



+ Develops and implements plans to introduce and manage cultural change within the organization to improve organizational effectiveness; ensures that organizational strategies, structure and processes are consistent with evolving business needs.



+ Manages the HR Coordinator.





The Candidate Education or Equivalent:





+ Bachelor’s Degree in relevant discipline (e.g., Human Resources, Business Management or equivalent) is required



+ Master’s Degree preferred;



+ PHR or SPHR certification a plus



+ Experience: Minimum 7 years broad and progressive experience in human resources required



+ Experience in supervisory or management role a plus



+ Exposure to the pharmaceutical, healthcare or related technical industries preferred



+ Experience supporting a manufacturing environment is preferred









Knowledge/Skills Requirements:





+ Strong business acumen and expert knowledge in HR management concepts with a strong consultative and results oriented approach.



+ Demonstrated success in collaboration with others and independent thought.



+ Has understanding of pharmaceutical industry and contract services business issues and trends.



+ Analytical ability, both interpersonal and issue-related; good judgment and ethics; professional presence and demeanour; strong interpersonal skills and political savvy.



+ Ability to develop strategic relationships; strong verbal and written communication skills; excellent presentation skills, adaptable to the level of audience.



+ Advanced PC skills, knowledge of company specific software packages.



+ Demonstrated ability to read, write, and speak clear English.
