Position Overview:







Catalent is currently looking to recruit a Principal Energy & Utilities Engineer to work in partnership with our sites globally. This position is responsible for creating and rolling out energy efficiency & utilities operational processes, standards and best practices that drive direct up-time and cost improvements to the business. We are looking for an engineering professional who can bring gravitas, leadership, knowledge and expertise to this role.







This is a remote position and can sit anywhere in the US or EU preferably near a Catalent Site.







The Role:





+ Develop corporate energy efficiency & utilities standards and best practices, site energy survey plans and energy audit protocols, energy efficiency & utility reliability programs



+ Analyze potential opportunities, create project proposals and present findings to leadership.



+ Manage and perform on-site energy efficiency audits that are focused on utility and building systems efficiency opportunities



+ Act as Catalent design authority for utilities and energy efficiency undertaking reviews of Capex project proposals.



+ Assist sites in development of utility reliability plans and identification of reliability projects. Develop project charters in tandem with site maintenance and reliability leaders and provide project technical support and guidance.



+ Develop energy tools, standards and administer training in a broad range of energy & utilities operational topics.



+ Assists with periodic program and system / equipment audits focused on operational effectiveness, planning and scheduling and criticality assessments to rank assets according to business impact either financial or safety.



+ Research global current and emerging technologies and standards on energy efficiency and utilities for implementation into company standards and best practice









The Candidate:





+ Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related discipline and extensive experience (typically 10+ years) in HVAC / Utilities / Energy engineering supporting a multi-site environment



+ Experience in the design of central utilities such as chillers, boilers, compressors, and HVAC systems



+ Certified Energy Manager (CEM) Certification



+ OSHA / IOSH / NeBOSH Certification or equivalent a plus



+ Lean Six Sigma Experience a plus



+ Knowledge of gas & electric utilization strategies, managing peak demand, demand response programs a plus



+ Experience within a regulated pharmaceutical environment is a plus



+ Registered / Chartered Engineer and membership of a recognized engineering body a plus



+ Strong leadership, influencing and mentoring skills



+ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills



+ Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships cross functionally.



+ Fluent in English written and verbal conversational and technical writing ability.
