**Job Description**



Stanford Blood Center Histocompatibility lab is seeking a Technologist to perform human histocompatibility testing for organ transplantation, including low- and high-resolution molecular typing (NGS, SSO, SSP) and engraftment monitoring. Test specimens, analyze, interpret, and report results. Experience in HLA is a plus, but we will train. Must qualify for or hold current California Clinical Laboratory Scientist license. (If you are a board-certified medical technologist, or you have passed the ABHI CHT or CHS board exam, you qualify for this state license.)

Core Duties include:

Performs high complexity, specialized HLA testing for organ transplantation. Determines suitability of specimens. Generates and analyzes data, documents and reports. Techniques used may include including DNA-based HLA typing, determination of antibody specificity, crossmatch analysis, flow cytometry, and others.

Utilizes Laboratory Information System properly and effectively.

Performs maintenance on and calibrates instruments and equipment; troubleshoots and takes corrective action when needed.

Performs quality control testing as specified in procedures.

**Qualifications**



BA or BS degree and completion of 12-month internship in medical technology required. Hold or qualify for California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License (MTA or MTR). (Out of state: If you are a board-certified medical technologist, or you have passed the ABHI CHT or CHS board exam, you qualify for this state license. License must be obtained within 6 months of start date.) One year related lab experience required. Regular work hours are days 8am to 4:30pm, Tuesday through Saturday.
