Job Title: Director of Operations & Supply Chain



Reports to: General Manager



Location: Kansas City







Position Summary



The Director of Operations and Supply Chain is accountable for the safety, quality, delivery, cost process within Clinical Packaging Operations, overseeing the functions of packaging, process engineering, maintenance, preproduction, and label control. This position reports directly to the site GM and is responsible for all aspects of planning, procurement, plant scheduling, capacity planning, materials management and logistics. This includes the deployment of common systems, improved processes and advanced technology to drive continuous improvement in planning, scheduling and supply chain optimization. This position is responsible to insure activities of all assigned personnel result in the successful, timely and cost-effective processing of orders to insure customer and stakeholder satisfaction.







The Role





+ Responsible for the daily delivery of the factory for pre-production activities, Label production, packaging, distribution



+ Establish metrics in regard to Operational quality events, in order to track and trend completion as well as root cause and identify areas for quality and process improvement – review these KPIs on a periodic basis and assign actions.



+ Oversee implementation of support processes and process efficiency, stemming from local and global best practice.



+ Assign the responsibility for the investigation, reporting, process improvement and training of deviations and complaints and the subsequent corrective and preventative actions – review/approve these items as appropriate.



+ Establish group systems and tracking devices; ensure global visibility.



+ Perform client and regulatory audits and tours; communicate findings and responses globally.



+ Present or report standard information to site, global and executive management.



+ Have the ability to assist and advise CSS members and clients with regard to operational or compliance related issues.









The Candidate





+ Bachelor of Science degree is required Degree in Business Management is preferred. CPIM and or APICS certification is preferred.



+ Supply Chain/Logistics experience plus 5 years of progressively increasing managerial experience in a production environment required.



+ Ten years of experience in an operations facility or demonstrated equivalence.



+ Have an expert knowledge of the operational process, SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), and cGMPs (current Good Manufacturing Processes) and the reason for their existence.



+ Have an expert knowledge of regulations in respect to cGMPs within Clinical and Commercial Operations.



+ Extensive experience with Continuous Improvement/ LEAN methodologies. Familiar with the McKinsey model for operation excellence is a plus
