**Job Description**

Job Description:

Manages the day-to-day efforts related to programming, planning, design, construction and activation of projects for the Stanford Health Care under the general supervision of the Director of Interiors. Ensures completion of projects within budget, on schedule and meeting all program objectives and appropriate governmental regulations. Implement Stanford Health Care Interiors Standards & Specifications. Acts as liaison between the client/users and all other project participants including consultants, contractors, vendors and outside jurisdictional agencies.


A. Reports To: Director, Interiors

B. Frequent Contacts: (inside and outside the hospital) Staff within own department, hospital administration/staff, Engineering & Maintenance, Environmental Health & Safety, Accounts Payable, consultants (architects/engineers), regulatory agencies, Building Department personnel, construction contractors, equipment vendors and others as required.

Job Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Interior Design from a CIDA accredited school or Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited program

Experience: Three (3) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience as an Interior Designer. Technical, professional and business knowledge of health care delivery is desirable.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

u Ability to budget, make financial projections and write reports

u Ability to ensure project compliance with hospital infection control procedures

u Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with widely diverse groups, including individuals at all levels both within and outside the organization and gain their cooperation

u Ability to handle potentially sensitive situations by applying consultative skills in working with internal and external constituent groups

u Ability to plan, organize, motivate, mentor, direct and evaluate the work of others

u Ability to prioritize work by making informed judgments and to develop solutions for complex problems

u Ability to utilize project management tools

u Knowledge of CAD system, CAFM, estimating, cost control, scheduling, construction administration, quality control, specification writing, and space planning

u Knowledge of local, state and federal regulatory requirements related to areas of functional responsibility

u Knowledge of technical, professional and business in the fields of healthcare delivery, architecture, and construction, and building design process

u Knowledge and experience in estimating, cost control, scheduling, construction administration, value engineering and quality control required.

u Strong analytical, organizational, leadership, interpersonal skills, and effective oral and written communication skills

u Working knowledge and experience of personal computer based applications including spread sheets, data base, scheduling and word processing desired
