**Job Description**

Job Summary

Under the direct supervision of the Security Services Supervisor, and/or appointed shift commander, dispatches Security Personnel to emergency and non-emergency calls for service. Answers incoming phone calls, operates a computer dispatch system, monitors fire and other systems alarms and inputs incident reports into the computer system as needed. In addition to the dispatcher visually monitors the extensive CCTV system in operation at the Security Dispatch Center.

Job Duties

1) Answers all telephone calls promptly and courteously. Triages calls rapidly, prioritizes and dispatches calls in appropriate order and importance.

2) Closely monitors radio traffic during any situation presenting potential danger to the life or safety of personnel and dispatches additional personnel as needed.

3) Maintains current status of personnel in the field. Maintains radio contact with officer personnel and enforces proper radio control and courtesy.

4) Monitors CCTV system to identify suspicious people and circumstances and dispatches personnel as appropriate.

5) Monitors fire and other system alarms and makes appropriate notification of alarm activations.

6) Questions emergency callers to elicit complete and accurate information necessary for emergency response.

7) Enters all appropriate information into the dispatch computer system. Maintains accurate records and logs reflecting the outcome and details of all calls and incidents.

8) Responds to requests made at the customer window at the security dispatch center.

9) Responds to the medical center during activation of Disaster Plan.

10) Selects emergency response levels and personnel in accordance with established policies and procedures, as directed by the shift Supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications


· High School Diploma or GED equivalent.


· Two (2) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience


· CDL California Driver's License

· Obtain within 90 days of hire (during which time employee will not be uniformed and will be in a monitored training program) - Security Guard Registration Card (SGRC) OR California Proprietary Private Security Officer License (PPSO)
