*_Position Summary_*







Responsible for developing, achieving, and maintaining the goals of assigned Imaging units. Coordinates the daily activities of the units. Provides leadership in the Imaging department, utilizing people, technology, and financial resources to efficiently provide services. Consistently promotes a positive work environment by being visible and available to all levels of staff and customers. Key performance indicators include but are not limited to: Patient satisfaction, employee engagement, productivity- financial targets, Red Rule compliance- zero tolerance for breaches, budgets and fiscal responsibility.

High School Degree or GED







Associate’s Degree







Bachelor’s Degree, preferred















*_Minimum Experience Requirements_*









* 1 year of supervisory experience required



* 2 years of experience as a technologist



* 1 years of lead or supervisory experience, preferred



* Efficiency in time management and interpersonal skills

















*_License/Certifications_*









* CT & MRI certification required



* ARRT, ARDMS or CNMT registry in at least one of assigned modalities



* Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association

* Direct supervision of CT, MRI, diagnostic x-ray departments (including 3 offsite x-ray clinics). Duties include staffing, exam scheduling, budgets, compliance, accreditation, employee and customer satisfaction and all other day to day operations



* Fosters trust and builds effective working relationships with associates, physicians, families, and patients. Development, coordination, approval and timely posting of schedules and time off requests per established deadlines. Makes unit assignments based on patient needs, associate skills/abilities, department resources and operational requirements. *



* Rounds daily to interact with staff, patients, and other customers including physicians. Communicates appropriate information at change of shift and throughout the shift. Consistently and fairly counsels and coaches staff related to accurate documentation, accountability and performance. Completes performance evaluations for all assigned staff.*



* Encourages associates to challenge work processes to improve unit effectiveness. Involves staff in planning processes to attain valuable input and to assure positive outcomes. Recognizes staff for process changes resulting in enhanced department efficiencies.*



* Achieves and maintains available ACR accreditation for assigned modalities. Participates in QAPI and quality initiatives. Ensure compliance, provides coaching, and monitors staff to ensure they are adhering to CMS and Joint Commission standards.*



* Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to develop relationship based care model of delivery of services to patients. Demonstrates commitment to Centura’s Core Values by participating in community events. Serves as patient advocate and provides patient care on a regular and as needed basis. Identifies and works with staff/physicians to appropriately handle patient care and safety issues. Responds to patient, physician, and associate concerns promptly.*



* Reviews and adjusts Kronos per time keeping policy. Adjusts staffing to maintain productivity standards. Assists in the preparation of the budget and capital planning. Provides input in capital equipment review and decisions. Manages unit supplies and orders supplies as needed. Consistently validates that work processes and priorities are in alignment with hospital/department strategic plan. Is innovative with staffing assignments without compromising patient safety.*



* Interviews candidates following best practices in talent selection and the interview process. Participates in the on-boarding process for new staff, ongoing competency assessments, professional development opportunities, and training staff on modality specific procedures; including students and cross-training internal candidates.*



* Educates staff on quality improvement goals and process changes. Supports succession planning within the department. Integrates department culture with emphasis on productivity standards and hospital goals for interviewing and hiring. Demonstrates statistical improvements in department related to patient, physician, and associate satisfaction.*



* Tracks equipment service and works with Clinical Engineering and Vendor provided service for maximum reliability and uptime. Employs evidence based practice standards to ensure a quality patient care environment. Follows all radiation safety protocols and ensures compliance.*



* Supports action planning to attain and continually improve physician, patient, and associate satisfaction scores. Proactively identifies and resolves problems within unit.*



* Performs imaging procedures, as needed, in relative area of specialty as needed, providing safety for self, patients and all other individuals. Prepares patient for exams: gives instruction to patient regarding the procedure; assists the patient during exam and positions the patient. Practices all rules and regulations pertaining to radiation safety, reducing personal and patient exposure to “as low as reasonably achievable” (ALARA), using the departmental technique policies/guidelines. Assists with post procedure patient/family education and follow up care.*
