Job Title: VP Operations, Respiratory, Ophthalmic and Analytical



Reports to: President, Oral & Specialty Delivery, business unit



Location: Woodstock, IL or Morrisville, NC







Position Summary



The Oral & Specialty Delivery (OSD) segment of Catalent delivers a broad range of critically important solutions to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry.



This is a multi-faceted role that will challenge and reward highly skilled and ambitious operations leaders possessing strong business acumen.







The Role

+ Oversee, manage, and lead the Operations team in Respiratory & Ophthalmic with a focus on continuous improvement in customer relations, quality, compliance and collaboration with other geographies and global functions.



+ Provide integration planning and effective project management for key business growth and productivity improvement initiatives.



+ Manage the consolidated P&L for his/her plants with a balanced short/medium term perspective.



+ Direct and manage production strategies by analyzing trends, preparing critical measurements and implementing production, productivity, and quality strategies while resolving problems and adapting to change.



+ Apply financial and market knowledge to assess and analyze growth opportunities and company capabilities; address immediate and longer-term issues and obstacles that may impact the successful achievement of Catalent’s objectives.



+ Participate actively in the acquisition of new customers as well as in maintenance and increased penetration of existing customers.



+ Create organizational structures to support effective production processes, assigning responsibilities and delegating with accountability.



+ Ensure specifications are complied with, from packaging, production processing, and on-time performance to quality assurance controls.









The Candidate





+ Educational background to include a bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline. Advanced degree in operations management or an MBA is a strong advantage.



+ Significant and diverse operations experience with a minimum of 15 years of plant operations, engineering, supply chain and/or distribution experience within regulated medical products and consumer health and wellness products.



+ Proven experience in managing a regional operations function within a fully integrated global operation & ability to operate effectively and comfortably in a complex global matrix. Managing through influence is an important success factor in this role.



+ Experience in managing operations based on a P&L model (not just cost-plus) with proven ability in managing a talented and highly qualified team of Operations General Managers who are directly responsible for their own plant-based P&L.



+ Thorough knowledge of cGMP and all regulatory requirements is required, along with sound technical expertise in manufacturing, packaging, and maintenance and supply chain leadership.



+ Proven ability to motivate employees and demonstrate superior management skills (i.e., business knowledge, leadership, communications, ability to analyze technical issues, conflict resolution).
