*_Position Summary_*

This position assists in the development, implementation, and promotion of education, wellness, and health screening programs for employees and reports to the Administrative Director of Operations. This position will provide personal training and group fitness instruction, orienting clients on wellness center equipment, maintaining database to include data entry and auditing of client information; responsible for marketing, promoting and educating clients on the program. This position will assist in providing a full range of employee wellness promotion services including customer service, telephone and office reception, clerical, computer and record keeping, supporting employees, office, and Administrative Director.

*_Education Requirements_*

* 4 yr Degree/Bachelors degree in Health Promotion, Exercise Physiology, Registered Dietitian, Sports Medicine or related field

*_Work Experience Requirements_*

* Prior experience in wellness field

* Background in personal training and group fitness

* Excellent public speaking skills preferred


* CPR and AED

* Group Fitness or Personal Training certifications

*_Position Duties (Essential Functions, Include % of Time)_*

* Responsible for all fitness related programming and intervention in STM Wellness Center and for extended classes in aerobics room. Weight = 45%

o Performs safety and maintenance inspections bimonthly at all four Wellness Centers

o Conducts wellness center orientations to new/existing clients

o Conducts monthly cleaning for all four facilities

o Conducts 1-on-1 exercise prescriptions, fitness assessments, and fitness training

o Serves as a resource to community education, written communication and other activities as it relates to fitness

o Leads group fitness classes

* Develops and coordinates ongoing health promotion activities for STM as well as promotes, markets, and educates employees on the Wellness Center Program. Weight = 30%

o Develops and coordinates ongoing wellness activities, programs, and interventions

o Assists Wellness Program Manager with specials projects such as challenges, programs, etc.

o Assists with yearly community walks as liaison

o Works well with team on joint effort on yearly health screenings

o Markets and presents programs to new employees, current employees, or other community and business groups

o Assists with the attendance and preparation of education classes and LNLs

o Conducts research in the field of wellness and prevention and promotes new findings

* Provides direct individual and group assessment/coaching services to meet health promotion client needs. Weight = 15%

o Develops education and promotion materials for classes and individual sessions

o Provides appropriate follow-up services on both current and former clients

o Serves as a resource to the department, and to the community for written communication and other activities relative to healthy lifestyles

* Actively seeks to promote and helps maintain through interaction with all others within and outside the department a positive, professional, team-oriented, and service environment which contributes to the goals of the department and reflects the values of the system. Weight = 10%

o Consistently cordial and professional in interactions with staff, clients, visitors, patients, and other departments. Returns phone calls promptly

o Participates in the team effort of the department or project, sharing information and offering help to others

o Continually strives to promote the St. Thomas More Wellness Center values

o Helps with rounds each morning and daily upkeep of the Wellness Center

o Arrives to work on time as well as keeps appointments and is prepared and ready meet

o Clocks in/out and turns in appropriate timesheets. Keep to budget hours

o Priorities and works effectively/efficiently daily

o Organized and keeps and cleanly atmosphere. Appropriate use of facility equipment, and computer. Wears appropriate professional attire
